So I downloaded something on the order of 75 new custom maps for Portal because I miss playing the game... and there's some pretty good stuff out there. I'm happiest with the Spigot 37 maps so far, despite them being far more difficult than the average custom map. I've got a video of me completing the first reject map, which was rejected on the basis of being too hard.





This solution isn't as hard to perform as you might think, but it's a bit harder to come up with. I spent about ten to fifteen minutes simply thinking about the method I'd use to perform a long distance fling... and then I grew bored and saw the windowsill on the outside. So I said to myself "there is no fucking way that that could work out..."

Lo and behold, it did and I did it. On the first try, no less.

So that was cool.

Give me my bacon, donuts, bacon donuts and other assorted foods that I can tolerate. I don't care if I live a slightly shorter life. I'd rather die happy than live miserably, thank you very much.

In other news, student success is the most boring class ever and the material is painfully boring. I'm on page sixteen after hours of reading this book. Sure, I've learned that I'm a visual and kinesthetic learner. I, however, am NOT an auditory learner. I knew that much, though, since hearing people talk is like hearing nothing at all.

Then again, I'd rather not hear people talking to me. :D

Also, Warsow 0.5 is their best yet... but I think some of the maps need less convolution while some need outright replacement/removal. The aesthetics of maps like "Go What Yourself" are far easier on the eyes and allow for better spatial reasoning than some of those gray metallic maps with no differentiation between areas, if you ask me. All in all, a good release.
